Atlanta Braves vs. Boston Red Sox Game One RECAP:
Safe to say my prediction in this went just as I planned. The Atlanta Braves took advantage of a depleted Boston Red Sox lineup that found runs few and far between. The "dagger" in this one was a 3-run HR off the bat of Ozzie Albies to put the Braves ahead 6-3. The Braves then scored 2 more through the 7th and 9th to send the score final at 8-3. Max Fried FEASTED on this Boston Red Sox lineup earning himself a career-high in strikeouts with 13. Max Fried Final Stat Line: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 13 K, 104 PC. Absolute amazing performance from the Southpaw which will help the Atlanta Braves further tomorrow as they have an extremely rested bullpen now. The Red Sox do as well have quite a rested bullpen for tomorrow's day game only using Kutter Crawford and relief pitcher Chase Anderson for 3 IP tonight. The Boston Red Sox bats were very cold on getting 5 hits and 5 separate hitters earned a hit. The Braves have now played the Boston Red Sox 3 times this season... The Atlanta Braves have WON every game by 2+ runs. 4-2 ATL, 5-0 ATL, 8-3 ATL. This is an important thing to look at heading into the 2nd of 2 games tomorrow for a Wednesday afternoon start.

Atlanta Braves vs. Boston Red Sox Game 2 Preview
The Boston Red Sox should find themselves in a little bit of a better spot for tomorrow's outing against the Braves. It is being reported that Tyler O'Neill will draw back into the lineup after being out for the last 10 days or so. This is a huge addition to the Boston Red Sox lineup who is batting .236 and 11 HR on the year. He was playing a big part in this young team with 17 RBI this year. Spencer Schwellenbach is on the bump for the Braves who is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 5 IP. This is a young pitcher that has not been seen by any of the Boston Red Sox. Nick Pivetta is on the other side for the Sox who has been quite impressive for the Red Sox which is a huge relief since all last year he would bounce back and forth from the bullpen to the rotation. Nick Pivetta has a 2-4 record with a 4.08 ERA in 35.1 IP on 7 starts. Pivetta had an incredible outing last time out against the Detroit Tigers where he grabbed 9 strikeouts despite letting up 2 ER. The Boston Red Sox lost that game 5-0, which makes it hard for pitchers when there is no run support. Schwellenbach is an RHP - the Red Sox have a .307 OBP against RHP this year. Schwellenbach was not all that bad however in his 1 start against WSH where he went for 5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, and 5 K. Those 3 ER came off of one single swing of the bat in a 3 run-HR.
Atlanta Braves vs. Boston Red Sox Prediction
ChaseTheLock Prediction: ATL/BOS Over 9 (-120) 1.2u
ChaseTheLock Record: 4-3 (+0.75u)
This one could backfire on me but at the same time, this feels like a very good bet. The main reason for this bet is the starting pitchers for both sides. Schwellenbach had a GB rate of 33.3% in his first MLB start. If Spencer struggles to get the ball to be hit on the ground - tomorrow could hurt him no matter how bad this Red Sox lineup is. The wind is projected to be blowing out to left center field at 10-12mph for the whole duration of this day's game. The weather will be beautiful and the ball will be flying. Nick Pivetta on the other side, has been pretty good metrics-wise this season with a 4.08 ERA and an xERA of 3.95. These numbers are not great - but not awful either. Nick Pivetta also has an awful Barrel% allowing 12.1% of pitches to get barreled which is the 6th percentile in the MLB. Nick Pivetta this year also has a GB% of 33 percent which will not bond well with the game script/weather tomorrow. Nick Pivetta has 153 PA against this Braves lineup and the Braves had hit .275 against him. They have an xwOBA of .382 so Pivetta could easily get lit up tomorrow. Pivetta has a 5.65 ERA at home and a 5.55 ERA in May which is not great metric-wise. I think that these two teams easily push double digits in score again tomorrow!
