The Toronto Argonauts

Team Preview!

Toronto Argonauts

Let’s take a quick look at the Argonauts after their 39-32 loss to the Roughriders. Nick Arbuckle had a solid game, throwing for 259 yards and two touchdowns, but did have one pick. Miyan Williams led the ground game with 37 rushing yards, and Kevin Mital was the top receiver with 98 yards.

Overall, our offense is averaging 20.3 points and 307.7 total yards per game, good for 9th in the CFL. Our passing game is actually pretty decent at 5th in the league, but we're only gaining 52 rushing yards per game. Defensively, we're giving up 32 points per game and allowing opponents 365.7 total yards per outing, which puts us at 7th in the league. We're also struggling a bit against the run, giving up over 130 rushing yards per game. Lots to work on, but let's focus on our next matchup!

Argonauts Injuries: Chad Kelly QB (Out), Darius Ciraco C (Out), Derek Parish DE (Out), Wynton McManis LB (Out).

The Argonauts vs Redblacks Game Prediction!

Argonauts

The Pick: Argonauts ML -115

The Toronto Argonauts, who are the reigning champs, have had a rough start at 0-3, but this game against the Ottawa Redblacks looks like a great chance for them to turn things around. Both teams are missing their starting quarterbacks, Chad Kelly for Toronto and Dru Brown for Ottawa, but their backups are pretty good. Toronto's Nick Arbuckle even helped them win the Grey Cup last year! Plus, the Argos have a stronger overall team and better coaching, and Ottawa's home field isn't much of an advantage. After a tough loss last week, the Argos are due for a win, especially if they can clean up their mistakes against a Redblacks team that hasn't looked super strong themselves.
