The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (who are crushing it with a 3-0 record) are hitting the road to face off against the Calgary Stampeders (who aren't doing too bad themselves at 2-1) this Thursday at McMahon Stadium. The Bombers are favored to win by 3 points, and the total score for the game is expected to be around 50.5. Keep an eye out for Zach Collaros and Vernon Adams Jr., who are slated to start as quarterbacks.

The Blue Bombers Team Preview!

The Blue Bombers just snagged a 36-23 win against the Elks, and Zach Collaros was on fire, throwing for 334 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions! Matthew Peterson chipped in with 65 rushing yards, and Dalton Schoen led the receivers with 75 yards. So far this season, the Blue Bombers are looking strong, ranking well in both offense and defense.
Their offense is putting up 32.3 points per game (2nd in the CFL) and racking up 373.7 total yards per game (4th). On defense, they're stifling opponents, only giving up 19.0 points per game (1st in the CFL) and holding teams to 349.7 total yards per game (4th).
Blue Bombers Injuries: Brady Oliveira RB (Questionable), Jake Thomas DL (Questionable), Peyton Logan RB (Out), Mike Benson LS (Out).
The Stampeders Team Preview!

The Stampeders recently lost to the Redblacks 20-12, even though Dedrick Mills had a great game, leading the team in both rushing (96 yards on 15 carries) and receiving (27 yards on 4 catches). Quarterback Vernon Adams threw for 218 yards but couldn't connect for a touchdown and had one interception.
Offensively, the Stampeders are putting up 26.3 points per game (5th in the league) and lead the league in total yards with 388.7 per game, thanks to a strong passing game (253.7 yards/game) and a solid run game (135 yards/game). On defense, they're pretty stingy, giving up only 21.7 points per game (2nd in the CFL) and are good against both the run (117.7 yards/game) and the pass (236 yards/game).
Stampeders: Jeshrun Antwi RB (Out), Bryce Bell OL (Out), Bentlee Sanders DB (Out).

The Blue Bombers vs Stampeders Game Prediction!

The Pick: Blue Bombers -3.5
Here's the gist of it: The Stampeders are coming off their bye week still struggling with their passing game. Their quarterback, Vernon Adams Jr., hasn't thrown a single touchdown pass in three starts, and now their top receiver, Reggie Begelton, is out with an injury. That's a huge problem, especially since they're playing the undefeated Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Winnipeg's defense is seriously tough, constantly shutting down opponents, and their veteran QB, Zach Collaros, is playing incredibly well, throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns last week. Plus, their star running back, Brady Oliveira, is back from injury and will team up with rookie Matthew Peterson to make a dangerous backfield. Given how many CFL games this season have been decided by more than a touchdown, I'm confident the Bombers will cover the 3.5-point spread.
