Boston doesn’t have the best lineup, but they have played solid baseball so far this year and they are third in the AL East, behind the Orioles and Yankees. The Boston pitching staff has a 2.63 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP, and a .225 opponent batting average. The Red Sox offense has scored 134 runs with a .246 batting average and a .317 on base percentage. Jarren Duran is batting .252 with one home run and 11 RBI’s for the Red Sox. Boston has the best team ERA in the MLB this season, but they are only 4-8 at home.

After a horrible beat down yesterday The Chicago Cubs now are 17-10 this season and they have won four of their last five games, but they are looking for answers after getting blown out on Saturday. Chicago won the first game in this series by a score of 7-1, but they lost game two by a score of 17-0. Prior to this series, the Cubs swept the Astros in three games and split a four game set with Miami. Chicago has started the 2024 season playing very well and they are currently second in the NL Central, only a half game behind Milwaukee. The Chicago pitching staff has a 4.23 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP, and a .242 opponent batting average. The Cubs offense has scored 140 runs with a .247 batting average and a .326 on base percentage. Dansby Swanson is batting .237 with three home runs and 11 RBI’s for the Cubs this year. Chicago’s pitching staff has had some issues this season, but their offense has really carried them, as they are sixth in runs scored. Can we see a bounce back in this game from the Cubs?

Boston comes into this game with the best team ERA in the MLB this season and they will have Houck on the mound, who has been great in five starts this year. Chicago may not have the best pitching staff, but their offense has been great, despite being shutout on Saturday. I really like this Cubs offense, but I don’t love Wesneski on the mound.
