Golden State Warriors Preview
Golden State has been one of the hottest teams in March, with wins in nine of their past 12 games. But their 112-86 blowout loss to Miami on Tuesday revealed some offensive challenges. Steve Kerr’s team is an incredibly facile passing team which averages over 29 assists per game, but his squad is not an overwhelmingly potent offensive team, scoring below the team average.
A major issue will be their free-throw shooting, which has been among the worst in the West (75.5 percent). They’ll need improved foul shooting to make for an easy win. A victory on Friday would also complete a rare season sweep of the Pelicans — a team they haven’t swept in a season since 2018-19.

New Orleans Pelicans Preview
The Pelicans has been having an awful year, struggling at both sides of the floor. They give up the second-most points per game in the West (119.2) and have one of the league’s worst home records (7-30).
New Orleans, too, has been beset by injuries; Zion Williamson, Herb Jones and Trey Murphy are all out. Their most recent win against Philadelphia held some promise, but this team has got some serious inconsistency issues.

Jimmy Butler Over 19.5 Points (-110)
Butler has had a rough go since joining the Golden State squad, but still serves as a helpful scoring asset. Butler should have all the opportunities he needs to hit the over against a vulnerable Pelicans defense.
Final Prediction
Still, expect the Warriors to respond in dominating fashion. The Pelicans' defensive woes and unevenness should let Golden State steamroll early. Take the Warriors to cover (-7.5) the spread and anticipate a total under 228.5 points as New Orleans fails to keep pace offensively.
