The Kraken have played as bad as any team in the NHL to start this season. With a struggling offense producing 1.83 GF/G (Goals for per game), which is somehow still an inflated total after a 7 goal game versus the Carolina Hurricanes, and a combination of bad goaltending and defense to produce a 3.33 GA/G (Goals against per game), this 2022 playoff team has been far from what they were last season. As for the offense, the have only 1 player in the top 100 in points to start the year, Vince Dunn. As for goaltending, with the 0-4 Philipp Grubauer as the expected goalie in net, the hopes are not high for the 6th worst defensive team to help him prevent pucks in the net.
The Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings have been RED hot to start this season. Their offense has fired on all cylinders with 5.00 GF/G, 2.50 GA/G, and a 5-1 record, only losing their first game of the season on the road to the top 5 Stanley Cup favorite New Jersey Devils. On this 5-game winning streak, Detroit is averaging a win by 3 goals per game. Offensively, they have 6 players in the top 100 point scorers with Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Larkin holding down spots 1 and 2 respectively. Ville Husso is the expected goalie in this one and he is 3-1 with a save percentage above 90% to start the year. This Detroit team is the number 1 scoring team to start the season and I don't see this pace slowing down in this matchup.

I think this article foreshadowed this outcome a lot. Although I believe the Red Wings can cover the puck line, getting +115 odds for the best offense in the NHL to beat the 6th worst defense and tied for 5th worst offense in 60 minutes is odds I can't turn away from. Just in case you are new to hockey betting, 60 Min ML, otherwise known as in regulation or in reg, means the team you pick will win the game outright without the need for overtime or a shootout. In regulation this season, the Red Wings are +15 on goal differential and the Kraken are -8 in regulation. This is a no brainer ticket for me. Let me know if you get to the window on this one!
