The Montana Grizzlies and the Tennessee Volunteers
Game Preview!
The Montana Grizzlies are facing off against the Tennessee Volunteers this Wednesday in college basketball at Thompson-Boling Arena. So, let's make a prediction for the Montana vs Tennessee game. We'll check out the betting angle and figure out the top pick between Montana and Tennessee.
The Montana Grizzlies Team Preview!
The Grizzlies have three games in the can so far, with two blowout wins and one blowout loss. The opener was a 92-61 victory over Hawaii Hilo. Game two was a different story, as Montana took a 79-48 defeat at the hands of Oregon.
So, in the third game against Northwest Indian College, the Grizzlies totally crushed it and got that win! Montana put up a whopping 56 points in the first half and ended up winning 94-44. Kai Johnson was on fire with 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. This team has the potential to really shine if they play together as a solid unit.
The Tennessee Volunteers Team Preview!
Over on the Tennessee side, they were able to start out their year with a win. Last Monday versus Gardner-Webb, the Volunteers took a 44-32 edge into the locker room on the way to an 80-64 win. Chaz Lanier topped the team with 18 points and one rebound.
So, in the second game, the Volunteers nailed it again, this time against Louisville. They scored 40 points in the first half and 37 in the second, ending with a 77-55 victory. Zakai Zeigler totally rocked it with 19 points and seven assists in 34 minutes. Man, this team is looking awesome this year with so much talent, but hey, there might be some tough competition ahead for these guys!
The Montana vs Tennessee Game Prediction!
The Pick: Tennessee Volunteers -21.5
Yeah, I think I'll just stick with Tennessee. The Vols have been playing really well in their first two games, and they shouldn't have much trouble in this one. In their last game against Louisville, Tennessee shot an impressive 56.6 percent from the field, grabbed 40 rebounds, and had 12 team assists. The 20 turnovers were a bit of a letdown, though.
Now, looking at Montana, they've managed to pick up a couple of wins against weaker teams. But honestly, I think their performance on Wednesday will be more like their game against Oregon: shooting only 34 percent, committing 14 turnovers, and getting outrebounded 42-31 in a big loss. I don't see Montana putting up much of a fight here.
