The Liberty are heading into this game after a tough 14-point loss (88-102) to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Even though Sabrina Ionescu dropped an awesome 34 points, it wasn't enough. Clark was on fire, sinking seven three-pointers all by herself, while the whole Liberty team only managed six. Breanna Stewart chipped in with 24 points, and Nyara Sabally was a force on defense, but Clark's performance was just too much. Still, it was their first loss in ten games, and they're still looking strong as they defend their title, leading in most key offensive and defensive stats. They'll definitely be looking forward to Jonquel Jones getting back on the court and Natasha Cloud finding her early-season rhythm again.
The Atlanta Dream:
Definitely on the rise, but still have something to prove.
The Dream are really on a roll lately! They just crushed the Mystics with a huge 33-point win, 89-56, thanks to Allisha Gray absolutely dominating with 32 points. They pretty much shut down the Mystics, holding them to under 13 points in three quarters and limiting them to just 29.5% shooting, while the Dream themselves shot a solid 44.3%. What's more, they sank way more threes, hitting 18 to the Mystics' 3, which has been a trend for them. They've now won three in a row and even had a four-game winning streak earlier this season. While six of their eight wins have been against teams that are struggling, wins are wins! Their real test will come against tougher teams like the Liberty, but with a powerful backcourt of Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, plus the strong inside play of Brionna Jones and Brittney Griner, they definitely have the talent to take on those challenges.
