Oklahoma City Thunder Preview

The Thunder announced themselves with a bang in Game One, steamrolling the Grizzlies 131-80 for the largest Game One victory in NBA playoff history. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander only put up 15 points, but OKC cruised with Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, and Aaron Wiggins combining for 60. Now well rested and returning to the comfy confines of their home court, Mark Daigneault’s men hope to replicate their dominance and get one step closer to the second round.
Oklahoma City Thunder possible starting five: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dort; Williams, Holmgren; Hartenstein
Memphis Grizzlies Preview

Memphis came into Game One tired from playing two Play-In games in rapid succession — and it showed. Tuomas Iisalo’s team scored only 80 points — its lowest playoff score in years. Marvin Bagley III’s 8-for-8 shooting (for 17 points) was the only bright spot, and Ja Morant had too little to work with. The Grizzlies could be doomed again against a red-hot Thunder unit by injuries and poor form, but an effort should be sharper.
Los Angeles Lakers possible starting five: Morant, Pippen Jr; Bane, Jackson Jr; Edey
Key Stats
Thunder have won nine consecutive meetings versus the Grizzlies.
It was the fewest points Memphis has scored in an NBA game since March 2018.
Game One: Thunder had a 32-point halftime lead.
The Thunder limited Memphis to 44 points in the second half.
Desmond Bane has somehow finished Game One with a + / - of -51.
Player Props
Chet Holmgren Over 17.5 Points: The rookie big man was terrific inside the arc and should have another big game against a shorthanded Grizzlies frontcourt.
Ja Morant Over 6.5 Assists: Morant was still in creating mode even with the blowout. The other game represented a tighter matchup, one that might offer more chances.
Final Prediction
Even if the Grizzlies tighten up their performance, the Thunder’s talent and depth should be too much again.
Prediction: Thunder to win by 10+ points | Total Points: Under 212.5
