The Houston Team Preview!

Huston basketball

Houston is straight-up on fire, having only tasted defeat once in their last 30 games and riding a massive 16-game win streak. They bulldozed through the Big 12 tournament, snagging the title after taking down some tough teams. While their first NCAA tourney game was a breeze, their path to the Elite Eight was a nail-biting gauntlet against Gonzaga and Purdue. Stat-wise, they score around 74 points a game (middle of the pack) but lock down opponents, allowing a stingy 58.5 points (best in the nation!). They aren't a huge rebounding or assist team, but they have three guys leading the charge offensively: L.J. Cryer dropping about 15 a night, Emanuel Sharp adding 12.6 and leading in steals, and Milos Uzan dishing out a team-high 4.4 assists while scoring almost 12 himself.

The Tennessee Team Preview!

Tennessee Basketball

Tennessee finished their regular season strong, grabbing a solid No. 4 seed in the SEC tourney. They took down Texas and even pulled off a big upset against top-ranked Auburn to make it to the finals. Unfortunately for them, Florida was too much to handle, so they settled for second place. But hey, they've been rolling in the NCAA tournament, taking care of Wofford, UCLA, and Kentucky to land themselves in the Elite Eight as the underdog against Houston. Offensively, they're putting up around 74.7 points per game (pretty average) and playing some serious defense, only giving up about 63 points (top 10 in the nation!). They're decent on the boards and move the ball well with over 15 assists a game. Chaz Lanier is their go-to guy, dropping 18 points a night, but Zakai Zeigler is the engine, averaging almost 14 points and leading the team with a whopping 7.5 assists and nearly 2 steals per game. Jordan Gainey also chips in with over 11 points.

THE PICK : HUSTON ML

Alright, so here's the deal. These two haven't tangled before, and with both teams bringing the defensive heat, expect a bit of a slugfest on the scoreboard. Honestly, the points total is a stay-away for me – it feels too low to confidently bet the Under, but going Over feels like a gamble. So, where am I putting my money? I'm rolling with Houston. These guys have been an absolute juggernaut all season long, and that top-ranked defense is no joke. It would honestly be a shocker if they weren't cutting down the nets in the Final Four. Yeah, they had a couple of tight calls against Gonzaga and Purdue, but they found a way to win those tough ones, and I'm betting on the Cougars to pull out another victory this Sunday. You heard it here first!
