NBA finals OKC versus Indiana Pacers

Tonight's Game 6 of the NBA Finals is a huge one at Gainbridge Fieldhouse! The OKC Thunder are on the cusp of their first-ever championship since relocating, and you know they'll be looking to close it out. On the other side, the Indiana Pacers are fighting to stay alive and push this series to a Game 7. With Tyrese Haliburton's injury making his availability for tonight uncertain, it's going to be up to the rest of the team to step up big time.

The Oklahoma City Thunder Team Preview!

OKC SGA

The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the verge of an NBA championship! They absolutely dominated the Pacers in Game 5 on Monday, winning 120-109 at home and taking a 3-2 series lead. Jalen Williams was a beast, dropping 40 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was right there with him, adding 31 points, 10 boards, and four blocks, while Aaron Wiggins chipped in a solid 14 points off the bench.

The Thunder were on fire from the jump, shooting 42% from the field and draining 14 threes. They held the Pacers to just 22 points in the first quarter and built up an 18-point lead in the second, which was more than enough to cruise to victory against a struggling Pacers team. Not everyone had their best night though; Chet Holmgren struggled, scoring only nine points on 4-of-15 shooting, and Alex Caruso had a rough one off the bench with just two points.

Thunder Recent Trends!

  • The Thunder have gone 7-3 in their past 10 games, with a 6-4 record against the spread during that span.

  • Oklahoma City's average total over the last 10 games is 1.4 points more than the 221.5 total listed for this matchup.

  • The Thunder are 53-25-4 against the spread this year.

The Indiana Pacers

Team Preview!

Indiana Pacers Halliburton NBA

Now, let's talk about the Indiana Pacers. They're really up against it for the first time in this series, staring down elimination after a pretty flat performance in Game 5. Pascal Siakam did his best to carry the load, leading the team with 28 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals. TJ McConnell chipped in a solid 18 points off the bench, and Aaron Nesmith added 14 points and six boards.

The Pacers shot 45% from the field and hit 11 of 30 threes, but they just couldn't get going and were playing catch-up all night after falling behind by 18 early. It was a tough night for some key players, too: Bennedict Mathurin was quiet with only seven points off the bench, but the biggest struggle came from Tyrese Haliburton, who had a really disappointing outing with just four points on 0-for-6 shooting in 34 minutes.

Pacers Recent Trends

  • The Pacers are 5-5 against the spread and 5-5 overall over their past 10 games.

  • Indiana's average total over the last 10 games is 3.4 points greater than the 221.5 over/under given for this matchup.

  • Against the spread, the Pacers are 38-43-1 this year.

The Oklahoma City Thunder Vs Indiana Pacers Game Prediction!

While the Thunder have been hot lately, their road struggles (1-8) are a concern, especially against a Pacers team that's dominant at home (15-5). Though the Thunder have momentum and are one win from the championship, closing out on the road is tough. Even with Haliburton likely playing through injury, I expect role players like McConnell and Mathurin to step up for the Pacers. If they avoid a slow start, the Pacers should feed off their home crowd and force a Game 7.

The Pick: The Pacers ML +210
