Excited for the fresh WNBA season? You should be, especially if you're looking to place some bets! While you can always throw money down on MVP, Rookie of the Year, and other player awards later, the juiciest value often pops up before the season even tips off. Think about it: a long-shot player who starts the season on fire will see their odds plummet fast. And while the favorites might stay strong, their odds aren't going to get any better. So, to really maximize your potential wins, now's the prime time to get in on the action! Let's get into some of my top picks for WNBA MVP, Rookie of the Year, and a few other interesting player markets this brand new season.
WNBA MVP Odds: Caitlin Clark, A'ja Wilson, or possibly someone else?
Here are the odds for the top five players listed on FanDuel's WNBA MVP odds board:
Alright, let's be real, trying to argue against A'ja Wilson for MVP feels like trying to stop a train. The woman's a three-time winner and just doesn't have any real weaknesses in her game – she's just good at everything. But, hold up, because there's a name buzzing in the air: Caitlin Clark. Now, she might not be a carbon copy of Wilson in every single skill, but she's seriously impressive in a bunch of them, and let's not forget the media spotlight absolutely loves her.
If the Fever come out strong, you can bet they'll be quick to crown her as the next big thing. If both Wilson and Clark live up to the hype, their odds probably won't get any longer than they are right now. Now, if you're feeling a bit spicy and want to take a chance on a real longshot, keep an eye on Alyssa Thomas (+4000).
She's another one of those players who's just solid all-around, kind of like Wilson and Clark. The only catch? Her team's pretty stacked, so she might not have to carry quite as much of the load as she did in Connecticut. So, my MVP dart throw?
THE MVP- A'ja Wilson ( +200 )
THE MVP SLEEPER- Alyssa Thomas (+4000)
WNBA Championship Trends
Here are some trends to keep in mind when betting on WNBA championship futures:
The No. 1 overall seed has gone on to win the title in eight of the past 10 seasons.
The Houston Comets, Seattle Storm, and Minnesota Lynx are tied for most all-time WNBA Championships with four apiece.
The Aces 2023 win was the first time a team had repeated as WNBA champs since the Los Angeles Sparks in 2002.

THE PICK: The Indiana Fever +400
Alright, so basically, I’m high on the Indiana Fever for the 2025 WNBA championship. We have even bet money on it! I truly believe the Fever will win over 30 games and take the Title!
Caitlin Clark is a G.O.A.T (no arguing!), and Indiana has put together a really good team around her with a solid coach.
We seen that Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell were a scoring machine at the end of last season, and now they've added some experienced winners like DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard, plus a tough guard in Sophie Cunningham. So yeah, I think the Fever are the real deal!
