The New York Liberty

Team Preview!

Liberty WNBA

The New York Liberty just edged out a win against the Golden State Valkyries, 81-78, in their last game. While their shooting from the field was a bit off at 36.1%, they made up for it by sinking 12 three-pointers and hitting an impressive 89.5% of their free throws. They also crashed the boards for 37 rebounds and dished out 18 assists, showing their teamwork. This win adds to their strong season record of 11-3, where they've been averaging a league-leading 87.8 points per game and playing stingy defense, only allowing 77.3 points per game.

  • The Liberty have won 11 of the 13 games they were favored on the moneyline this season (84.6%).

  • New York is 11-2 (winning 84.6% of its games) when it has played as a moneyline favorite of -165 or shorter.

  • The Liberty have a 62.3% chance to win this matchup based on the moneyline's implied probability.

  • In eight games this season, New York and its opponents have scored more than 165.5 combined points.

  • The average point total in Liberty outings this year is 165.2, 0.3 fewer points than this game's over/under.

The Atlanta Dream

Team Preview!

The Dream WNBA

The Atlanta Dream recently took a 68-55 loss to the Dallas Wings. It wasn't their best shooting night, hitting only 23.4% from the field and a chilly 20.6% from three-point range. While they did grab 37 rebounds and forced 17 fouls (making 18 of 25 free throws), they couldn't overcome the Wings' 37.9% shooting. Rhyne Howard was a bright spot for the Dream, scoring 23 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Despite this recent loss, the Dream are still having a solid season with a 10-5 record, boasting a strong defense that's ranked second in the league for points allowed per game.

Dream Trends & Insights!

  • The Dream have been underdogs in six games this season and won three (50%) of those contests.

  • This season, Atlanta has won two of its five games when it is the underdog by at least +135 on the moneyline.

  • The Dream have a 42.6% chance to win this game based on the implied probability of the moneyline.

  • The Dream have combined with their opponent to score more than 165.5 points in eight of 16 games this season.

  • Atlanta's games this season have had an average of 161.9 points, 3.6 fewer points than this game's point total.

Atlanta dream WNBA

THE PICK: ATL Dream +3.5

The Liberty are definitely missing Jonquel Jones. Sure, Breanna Stewart's a superstar and Sabrina Ionescu's everywhere, but Jones is their defensive backbone, a scoring threat, and a rebounding machine – basically, she's irreplaceable, as we saw when she had to leave the last game with an ankle injury. The Dream, on the other hand, are strong inside with Jones and Griner, plus they've got those sharp-shooting guards in Howard and Gray creating all kinds of problems. With Jones out, I'm liking Atlanta to cover at home.
