Matchup/League Facts
Jacksonville State was one of only 19 FBS teams to win 2+ games when trailing after Q3 last season.
Jacksonville State ranked 22nd among FBS teams for H2 points allowed per game last season (9.2).

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
Team Betting Preview
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers went 8-5 (5-3) last season and they finished tied for third in the Sun Belt East Division. Coastal Carolina started the season with a 27-13 loss at UCLA but did beat Jacksonville State by a score of 30-16 in their second game. Coastal Carolina went 1-2 in the next three games to bring their record to 2-3 on the year, but they won the next five games. The Chanticleers lost to Army and James Madison in their last two games of the regular season, but did beat San Jose State by a score of 24-14 in the Hawaii Bowl to end their season with eight wins.
This season, Coastal Carolina will have a new quarterback leading the team, possibly resulting in a decline following Grayson McCall's tenure as the starting QB in recent seasons. Although the Chanticleers didn't heavily rely on running the ball, their top rusher from last season is back. However, the wide receiver unit experienced significant losses in terms of production, raising concerns about the performance of the passing game. Its to early to tell what we can actually epect from this Center but I do have high hopes for this program!
Facts that say Coastal Carolina Could Win
The underdog has won five of Coastal Carolina's last six games.
Coastal Carolina has covered the spread in five of its last six games as an underdog against non-AP-ranked teams.
Jacksonville State Gamecocks
Team Betting Preview
The Jacksonville State Gamecocks went 9-4 (6-2) last year and they had a great first season in the FBS. The Gamecocks finished third in C-USA and even squeezed into a bowl game. Jacksonville State started the season by winning five of their first six games, with the lone loss coming at Coastal Carolina. The Gamecocks also lost to Liberty, South Carolina, and New Mexico State, but they were able to pick up a win against Louisiana by a score of 34-31 in overtime of the New Orleans Bowl.
So, Jacksonville State is kind of figuring out who's gonna be their main quarterback among Zion Turner, Logan Smothers, and Tyler Huff. But hey, I reckon Smothers might have the upper hand since he got some game time last year. The Gamecocks are all about having a QB who can move around, and they'll definitely need that again, especially with some key running backs no longer in the mix. And speaking of changes, they did lose a few guys at wide receiver to the transfer portal, so it'll be interesting to see how that crew shapes up at the beginning of the season.

Coastal Carolina vs Jacksonville State
Game Prediction
The Pick: Under 55.5 -105
So, these two teams are going into this game with a lot of question marks because they lost some important players. But hey, Coastal Carolina did manage to beat Jacksonville State 30-16 last year. Jacksonville State had a pretty awesome season, especially considering they're new to the FBS, and they'll be playing at home this time. Gotta say, I'm not a fan of either team's wide receiver crew, and I have a feeling both teams will start off slow on offense. That's why I'm leaning towards the under for this game.
