This extra day of rest should be extremely beneficial for the 35-year-old Canadian Southpaw. On the other side is yet another left-handed pitcher in young gun 25-year-old, Garrett Crochet. Garrett Crochet has become a fan favorite among many in the Major Leagues this season with his impressive statistics in his rookie campaign. This season his strikeout numbers are among the best in the MLB, 2nd overall with 124 in 16 starts. In front of him is Cy Young favorite Tyler Glasnow of the opposing Los Angeles Dodgers. Garrett Crochet holds the highest K/9 Rate in all of Majors with 12.6 K/9. His metrics are better than some of his actual stats as well. His ERA is 3.25 but he is riding a 2.43 xERA which puts him in the 4th percentile of pitchers as well as an xBA of .192 which is within the 5th percentile of pitchers in the MLB. Garrett Crochet is in the top 50 percentile in every single category on Baseball Savant. Paxton on the other hand has been outperforming his expected metrics and is a polar opposite of Garrett Crochet. James Paxton is currently holding an ERA of 3.65 but has an xERA of 4.64 and an xBA of .255. Paxton also has some awful strikeout numbers only striking out 15.4% of batters while Crochet is striking out 35.2% of batters! No doubt in my mind, that Garrett Crochet of the Chicago White Sox is the better pitcher in this game.

Rocking with these two guys on the bump is what this whole article has been about. I just love what I am seeing from these two pitchers as of late and there is no doubt in my mind that the Chicago White Sox have limited offensive firepower. The Los Angeles Dodgers have a lot of offensive firepower as we all know such as Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Teoscar Hernandez. Now the question is, will Garrett Crochet be able to stop this Dodgers Superteam? Well, if this was one week ago I would likely say no... But, with no Mookie Betts that changed my input here. I will take this game to under with Paxton coming off his best outing and Crochet coming off one of his worst outings of the season despite only allowing 3 ER vs. Houston. The game score ended 4-1. In games Crochet has started, the under has hit in four out of five games. I need some sleepy offenses for this matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox!
