The Texas Rangers are coming off of a series win against the Baltimore Orioles, where they won all three games in that series. Texas has been dominating games, winning by scores of 3-2, 11-8, and 7-1. The Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild Card round by scores of 4-0 and 7-1. Texas had me really questioning them in the regular season, but they have looked amazing so far in the postseason. The Texas pitching staff has a 2.20 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP this postseason. The Rangers offense has scored 32 runs with a .282 batting average. The projected starting pitcher for Texas is Jordan Montgomery, who is 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP over 11 innings pitched so far this postseason. The Houston Astros are coming off of a series win against the Minnesota Twins in the ALDS, where they won three out of four games. Houston won Games 1, 3, and 4 by scores of 6-4, 9-1, and 3-2, but they did lose Game 2 at home by a score of 6-2. The Astros finished the regular season playing really good and they have now won seven of their last eight games. The Astros pitching staff has a 3.25 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP so far this postseason. The Astros offense has scored 20 runs with a .261 batting average. The projected starting pitcher for Houston is Justin Verlander, who is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP over six innings this postseason. Can the Astros put there foot down tonight and the Rangers know who the best team in the post season is!?

These two teams were beast for most of the season in the AL West race, and it's only right that they will meet in Game 1 of the ALCS tonight. Texas had me thinking they might not even make the postseason how they played over the last couple of months of the regular season, but now these boys are undefeated through two series in the postseason. Houston won the AL West on the last day of the regular season and they took care of the Twins pretty easily last series. Houston is starting Justin Verlander, who went six innings and didn’t allow a run in his first start this postseason. Verlander went seven innings and allowed one earned run in his last start against Texas, which was on September 6th. Texas is starting Jordan Montgomery, who pitched well in his first start this postseason, but allowed four earned runs in his second start against Baltimore. Montgomery allowed one earned run over 6.2 innings against the Astros earlier this season, but that start was with the Cardinals. Texas has looked very good in their first five games this postseason, and I am going to take them tonight! The fact of the matter is Houston really wasn’t that great at home this season and this Rangers team has a Momentum that I'm not getting in front of!
