The Tennessee vs Ohio State Game Preview!
Yesterday's featured article was Indiana with the points, but that didn't go as planned since Notre Dame dominated them. No worries, we're bouncing back strong today! In this piece, we're diving into a prediction for the Tennessee vs. Ohio State College Football playoff game happening on Saturday, December 21st, at Ohio Stadium. Let's check out the Tennessee Volunteers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes matchup.
The Ohio State Team Preview!
Ohio State has had plenty of time to mull over their loss to Michigan, and they're feeling the heat. Lots of folks still think they've got what it takes to snag a title, but they've got to step up their game from that Michigan match. On November 30th, when they faced the Wolverines, the offense only managed to put 10 points on the board and lost by three. Will Howard has shown promise this season, but he really struggled against Michigan. He hit 19 of his 33 passes for 175 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Carnell Tate snagged six catches for 58 yards. Ohio State's been putting up an average of 35.5 points, while their defense is letting through 10.9 points per game. For Ohio State to do well in this game, their defense needs to step up, but more importantly, Will Howard's got to have his best game of the season.
The Tennessee Team Preview!
Tennessee is feeling pretty confident as they head into this game, thinking they can hit the road and keep moving forward in the playoffs. Last time they played against Vanderbilt, Tennessee put up 36 points and won by 13. Nico Iamalevea was on fire, completing 18 out of 26 passes for 257 yards, four touchdowns, and just one interception. If he can pull off a similar performance, Tennessee's in a good spot. Plus, Sedrick Henderon chipped in by running 17 times for 60 yards and snagging a touchdown.
This season, Tennessee is scoring an average of 37.2 points per game, and their defense is letting through 13.9 points per game. Their offense is ranked as the 8th best in college football. Iamaleava has thrown for 2,512 yards, with 19 touchdowns and five interceptions. Dylan Sampson has racked up 1,485 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns.
The Tennessee vs Ohio State Game Prediction!
The Pick: Tennessee +7.5 -110
It wasn't too hard to pick the winner for this game. I'm all in on Tennessee, and I genuinely believe they can win outright. Tennessee's been averaging 37.2 points per game this season, and I think they'll do well here. Will Howard just isn't cutting it for Ohio State, and they're going to have a tough time moving the ball. I'm not saying Tennessee will hit 37 points, but Ohio State's lack of scoring will be the game-changer. Ohio State won't score more than 20 points, and Tennessee will score enough to keep it close. I'm backing the Volunteers against the spread and also putting a few bucks on Tennessee to win outright.
